Why Chobe?
Chobe, the land of the giants
Did you know that Chobe is known as the "Land of the Giants" because it has the highest concentration of elephants in Africa? You can see up to 120,000 elephants at the Chobe National Park! The Chobe River is also unique; during the wet season, it flows both upstream and downstream, a rare phenomenon known as a "bifurcation." This creates a dynamic landscape that attracts a wide variety of wildlife, making Chobe a must-visit destination for nature lovers.
Chobe boasts a vibrant ecosystem that supports lions, leopards, buffalo, and many antelope species. It is also is one of the few places where you can spot the rare puku antelope. In addition, Chobe is a birdwatcher’s haven, with over 450 recorded species.
At Chobe, you can savor traditional dishes like seswaa, a flavorful shredded meat stew served with pap or bogobe.
